Checkmat Team
Checkmat is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu team, led by multiple world champion Léo Vieira, together with his brothers, and also multi-champions Leandro Vieira and Ricardo Vieira, by whom Head Coach Vinícius of Checkmat Zurich was trained and promoted to Black Belt. We provide seminars with great references in the sport, team athletes and leaders.
Students have support in the biggest world championships, such as the European, Pan and Worlds, with prepararation camps together with those that are already champions, and team leaders.
We have affiliates in more than 20 countries around the world. Checkmat is more than a team, it’s a family formed by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Head Coach Vinícius Azevedo, coming from Rio de Janeiro in August 2020, in the same year he was crowned champion of the AJP Tour Zurich International Pro, brings his knowledge acquired since 2012 when he started with renowned Grand Master Osvaldo Alves, by whom he was promoted up to Purple Belt, and later joined the champion Checkmat team, at Fightzone, led by Master Ricardo Vieira, competition team that has produced so many champions. He is part of two of the strongest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu lineages.
